Document Management
A Document Management System (DMS) is a computer system used to track and store electronic documents and/or images. JobPro contains some very powerful Document Management features and many more Document Management features are available through customisation.

A good Document Management system is built around two main principles.
Filing: How will documents be filed? What methods will be used to prganise or index the documents to assist in their retrival? Document Management Systes will typically use a database to
store metadata about a document and a file system to store the actual physical files.
Traceability: When, where and by whom are documents created, modified, published and stored? |
|
In JobPro it is possible to save filepaths within the database. This allows a user to open files with their native applications. A user can specify an unlimited number of files of unlimited file types. |
|
Customisation: JobPro has been customised for a number of our clients to improve upon the native Document Manage stystem. Some examples of this customisation are as follows:
- • It is possible to create and display thumbnails of linked Documents.
- • It is possible to move/copy files to predefined Server locations.
- • It is possible for the dynamic creation of folders e.g. Job folders, custome folders etc.
- • It is possible to Manually or Automatically mount networked or remote volumes.
- • It is possible togather metadata about a file such as last accessed, file size etc.
- • It is possible to lock/unlock files at an OS
